Northumberland is England at its wildest. Its sweeping coastline runs unbroken for miles, featuring sandy beaches, windswept dunes, and ruined castles that stand guard over the shore. Offshore, the Farne Islands are filled with seabirds and one of the largest populations of grey seals, protected as a marine reserve. Inland, heathlands and wildflower meadows host migratory birds and rare terrestrial species. Remote and lightly populated, Northumberland feels like one of England's last great frontiers.
As the first-ever brand ambassadors in SSI’s 50-year history, we’re proud to help redefine what it means to be a pro diver. SSI believed in us early—supporting our mission before anyone else. Since then, we’ve pushed to show that you can turn passion into profession without quitting your day job. Today, we help SSI grow their global reach by connecting with divers who care as deeply about the ocean as they do about safety, skill, and sustainability.
Seahouses is the heartbeat of Northumberland’s coast, a small harbor town that looks out toward the wildlife stronghold of the Farne Islands. Each summer, tens of thousands of puffins, guillemots, and other seabirds transform the cliffs and burrows into one of the UK’s most spectacular breeding colonies. Grey seals crowd the islands, coming quite close to those brave enough to get in these cold waters. From Seahouses, boats head straight into the action, offering close encounters with some of the richest marine life in England.
